Learn the basics of hand embroidery. Even for the student who has never held a needle and thread, they will leave this class wanting to embroider on everything! Starting with an introduction to embroidery and discussing the essential tools for hand embroidery, we teach five embroidery stitches (including the dreaded French Knot) demonstrate various methods including finishing off , some special tips and ideas. The class will begin with the very basics, we teach you how to stitch the right away as they move from technique to technique. We start stitching on a “doodle cloth” (Sampler) for practice, and then move onto stitching up a tea towel to take home and enjoy. Embroidery only looks hard, but it is inexpensive and the results… well, there’s a reason everyone loves the look of embroidery and its addictive and so relaxing, a complete stress buster!
Skill Level Beginners
What you learn:
Basics of hand embroidery and different tools used, types of floss and threads, organizing floss conditioning, separating and floss blending five embroidery stitches. Will also touch on the pattern transferring techniques
What you make:
A sampler (doodle cloth) and you will start embroidering on a linen tea towel with this class you also get a hand embroidery ring to keep.
