Practically every garment you are going to sew will need some kind of hemline and require sewing seams, with so many options to learn,  Many of these will depend on the type of fabric you are sewing. And sometimes the type of garment structure or look you want to achieve. For example A knit fabric would require a different approach than a wool or a chiffon and suits and coats have a different approach as tailoring requires very different and more expert technical knowledge. In this class we explain the differences and give you some basic knowledge and skills to know what’s best suited for your projects.

What you learn: • Identifying the right hemline finish for fabric and garment • Traditional versus modern techniques • Narrow/rolled and blind hem/seam finishes using machine and hand options • Achieving a perfect hem finish accurately • Standard seams/finishes and French concealed seams

What you make: Samples an assortment of Hem and Seam finishes including Hand worked options.
