Sew your first pyjama pants

Here is a really fabulous beginners project to take you to the next level sewing clothes for yourself or your family. Easy and a great next step after one of our beginners classes and suitable for men and women.
On this course you will make the Pyjama pants with or without the pockets (your choice!) and you will be able to make them at the length of your choice, shorts, crop leg or full leg you decide.

The pattern includes the top although you are not making this you could buy fabric and make this part at home or you may have time to cut out at the end of the course.
You make: Pyjama bottoms
You learn:
  • Size adjustment
  • cutting out a pattern
  • marking fabric for sewing
  • basic dressmaking skills
We include use of equipment and sewing tools and your pattern for this class
You will need to bring:
  • Your own fabric and notions (please refer to webpage and questions just email us)
  • Fabric width required 140/150cm
  • Full length trousers 2.7mts
  • 3/4 length trousers 2.2mts
  • Shorts 1.5mts
  • 30 mm elastic tape, suggested elastic length:
    XS 69 cm, S 77 cm, M 85 cm, L 93 cm, XL 101 cm, 2XL 109 cm, 3XL 117 cm
  • Matching thread
  • Fusible interfacing
  • If you wish to make the top to match at a later date you will need to add on a further 1.5 mts

In addition please note suggested fabrics are light to medium-weight wovens – such as cotton flannel, linen, quilting cottons, shirting, lawn, double gauze, rayon challis, silk crepe or charmeuse. The Pyjamas shown in the images are sewn in a cotton lawn from Minerva.We can supply the interfacing and the elastic just let us know by email.
