KHY Sewing School is excited to announce a variety of engaging sewing and craft workshops for kids, along with a masterclass for adults focusing on cushion-making. These sessions are designed to inspire creativity, develop skills, and provide a fun experience with fabric and thread! Whether your child is just starting out or ready for a challenge, our workshops cater to all ages and skill levels.
Important Note:
To participate in any machine sewing classes, attendees must have completed our Sewing Driver’s Licence for Kids or Adults to have attended a Sewing Machine Taster/Absolute Beginners Class/Absolute Beginners Course or possess similar basic sewing skills.
Week One Sewing Workshops for Kids:
Kids Learn to Use a Sewing Machine – Sewing Machine Driver’s Licence
Starting point to learn to sew, a fun and really original one-off class, it does not matter if you do not have a machine (Yet!) this is aimed to get you right on track and you will leave wanting to sew SEW much more, boys and girls all love this class!
Hot Cross Bunny Toy Making
Children can create their own adorable Hot Cross Bunny toy, learning basic hand-sewing skills while making a cute stuffed friend.
Meet the Mansion Friends Cloth Kit Workshop
In this imaginative class, kids will make unique plush toys that they can personalize with fabric and embellishments.
My First Dress
Perfect for those ready for their first sewing machine project, participants will craft a simple dress while learning essential techniques.
First Skirt
A fun introduction to garment-making, where kids will sew their own skirt and gain a sense of accomplishment.
Aprons
Young ones will create fun, functional aprons, perfect for cooking or crafting.
Eco Storage
This workshop teaches sustainability through creativity, guiding children in making eco-friendly storage solutions from upcycled fabrics.
Fashion School Workshops for Teens:

Budding designers will sketch, design, and sew small accessories or clothing, getting a taste of the fashion industry!
Saturday, April 12 – Cultural Market at Mansion:
Join us for an all-day event filled with creative activities, including workshops like Knit a Bunny, where children can learn to knit and make their own adorable bunny.
Open Studio (2 – 5 pm)
Families are invited to explore the studio and enjoy various craft activities in a relaxed atmosphere.
Cushions Masterclass
Adults will learn to make beautifully crafted cushions, ideal for those looking to enhance their sewing skills.
Week Two Sewing Workshops for Kids:

Travel Cushion
Kids will create cosy travel cushions, perfect for road trips or flights.
Patchwork Cushion
Participants will learn patchwork design, piecing together various fabrics for their own cushion.
Nap Dress
Older kids will enjoy making their own comfy nap dress—great for lounging or sleeping!
Hot Cross Bunny Toy Making
A repeat favourite, giving more kids the chance to create these cuddly bunnies.
Fashion Hub
Kids will continue developing their skills with new creative fashion projects.
