Keep Safe – Keep Stitching!

Tuning into this weeks BLOG from one of our lovely teachers Tracy O’Dwyer stay at home Craft sanctuary …

For those of you who don’t know me I am Tracy O’Dwyer and I have been involved with Jane’s wonderful Sewing School for about 18 months now having first met Jane and fallen in love with the Studio and Ethos of KHY whilst volunteering at the Mansion.  A little bit of background – I returned to the UK after living and working in Belgium for 17 years where I honed my love of chocolate and frites (not necessarily together!) I have always been a stitcher and whilst in Belgium I joined a fantastic Cross Stitch Group which has become a real passion of mine and my other passion was indulged through my job at the British School of Brussels where I ran a lunch time Cupcake Club – what’s not to like!

My Lockdown has led to rather a lot of creativity – I have painted the back of 2 shelving units (been meaning to do that for an age), cleared out and tidied my shed which is actually looking uber organised, been planting seedlings and weeding borders and my sewing machine is out, set up and plugged in at all times ready for me to set to with sewing projects.

Sew (!) far I have made 2 peg bags, one of which I made the bias binding for and a very fetching face mask and I have left an opening for a filter to be put inside.  This week, I already made a patchwork cushion from Liberty Tana Lawn which my friend gave me several years ago, I am knitting a jumper for my Grandson and I want to get on with some cross stitch projects which have been put aside.
