Our Teacher

Patchwork Expert – Kirsty Robertson Macdonald

Kirsty is highly creative and first experimented with patchwork and dressmaking (Traditional English paper piecing style) at an early age. Later, she became very involved in ceramics and had her own studio for a few years. A busy civil service career, marriage and children pushed most of that creativity to one side for a while. But when her husband was posted to the USA in 2011, she joined a quilting group and quickly caught the bug. Since then she has acquired a huge fabric stash, made many talented quilting friends and had a quilt exhibited at the Festival of Quilts. This was Kathryn Kerr’s 365 Challenge Quilt – a block every day for a year – which perfected her piecing skills and encouraged her to start teaching others.
