Our courses commence the week beginning Monday 9 January, kicking off the new year with Absolute Beginners Learn to Sew every Monday 7pm-9pm and Sewing club every Wednesday 10am-1:30pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm.
Brand new for 2023 Introduction to Pattern Cutting every Saturday 3pm-5pm for confident dressmakers to make your own designs a reality our tutor Carried will guide you through drafting a skirt block tailored to your exact measurements.
Sew your First Pyjama Pants on Sunday 22 January 10am-4:30pm an ideal first project for newbies or a quick make for existing stitch addicts to hone skills.
A great one-day workshop on Sunday 29 January 10am-4:30pm to Sew a Billie Sweat Top if you have made a few garments in woven fabrics and want to attempt working with stretchy fabric – the balloon sleeve version is our favourite.
Learn Hand Embroidery in our Taster Class on Sunday 5 February 2:30pm-5:30pm a useful skill for repairing, darning or beautiful decorative work to add a personal touch.
Design and sew your own cushions on Saturday 18 February 10am-4pm the return for 2023 of our popular Cushions Masterclass perfect as a follow-on sewing skills class that delivers some key skills that will serve you well in any dressmaking or soft furnishings project.
Kids are back to Stitch Club on 5 January running weekly 4:15pm-4:30pm on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday. This term stitch clubbers will be tackling assorted projects to explore different sewing areas and hone individual skills with varied makes sewing kit baskets, cosy hats and scarves and a few more projects over 6 weeks.
February half term is jam packed and already booking up fast kicking off the week as usual with our ever-popular Sewing Machine Driving Licence and once qualified join in for the rest of the week to make a Printed Cloth Kit Creature, a Patchwork Cushion, First Skirt, Bean Bag Frog and brand new for experienced sewing teens a cool and trendy Sweat Top.

Cocoon & Me
Cocoon&me was established by Paula Clark in January 2017, located in Brighton, on the south coast of England. Working with planet friendly materials such as cotton, jute, recycled textiles & vegan friendly fibres, Cocoon&me uses macramé, crochet & knitting to produce a range of original beautiful pieces for you, your home & garden.
Join them in out studio on Sunday 19 February and other dates for Blanket Arm Knitting or a Crochet Basket Workshop on Sunday 23 April.
“Ragged life” was founded in 2014 after noticing that more and more people were looking to get into rag rugging. Founder and owner Elspeth started out running workshops at weekends and in the evenings in London and Hertfordshire but as demand picked up she decided to leave her old job to enter the world of rag rugging full time. Fast forward a few years ! Elspeth is now a published author, has appeared on national TV and is a regular in craft magazines.
Ragged Life will be taking over our studio for a British Rag Rugging Class on Saturday 26 February.
