If you’ve always wanted to learn to sew but didn’t know where to start, April is your moment.

The Sewing Machine Taster is a relaxed, friendly introduction where you’ll learn how to use a sewing machine and get comfortable with the basics—no experience (or even your own machine!) required.

The Absolute Beginners One Day Workshop take you from your very first stitch all the way to creating a cushion and drawstring bag building confidence week by week ready to take a more advanced sewing workshop.

 Make Your Own Clothes (Yes, Really!)

If you’ve already got the basics down, April offers plenty of ways to sharpen your skills and try something new. Dreaming of wearing something you made yourself? April’s dressmaking sessions make it totally achievable.

• Cuff Top Workshop – A one day next steps workshop where you will make the perfect top.
• Pyjama or Lounge Pants – A one day next steps workshop where you will make the perfect pyjama pants or lounge pants.

This workshop is designed to be practical, confidence-building, and genuinely fun — so you leave with something you’re proud to wear.

Zips – Masterclasses

We’ve got it all zipped up with our Zips Masterclass. In this 3 hour session our experts will take you through

• Standard/Regular Zippers: The most common zip, visible when closed. Used for simple bags and skirts.
• Invisible/Concealed Zippers: These hide seamlessly within the garment seam, making them perfect for dresses.

Cushions – Masterclasses

Join us for this inspiring workshop and learn how to create a beautifully finished piped scatter cushion, complete with a concealed zip.

You’ll be guided through each step of the process, learning professional techniques to help you achieve a polished finish. You’ll discover how to accurately measure and cut your fabric, create piping using bias-cut strips and piping cord, insert a zip with confidence, and master those tricky corners and neat joins on the sewing machine. This workshop is suitable for those with  some basic sewing machine confidence is helpful. With our small class sizes, you’ll benefit from plenty of individual support and guidance throughout the day, helping you sew with confidence and leave with professional results

Summer Fun for Kids & Teens

The school holidays bring a whole creative programme for younger makers too fun, hands-on sewing projects for ages 7+

• Sewing Machine Driver’s Licence
