Six Sewing Resolutions

Here are some of our suggestions for making your next year of sewing even more special . Don’t forget we open our doors again next week so the     machines will be buzzing again and the scissors chopping.

1. Learn a New Technique: Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced sewist, there’s always something new to discover in the world of sewing. Challenge yourself to learn a new technique this year, whether it’s  mastering a complex embroidery stitch or using a different foot on your machine.

2. Complete Unfinished Projects: We all have that pile of unfinished sewing projects tucked away in a corner. This year, resolve to dust off those         unfinished pieces and bring them to life. Finish what you started and experience the satisfaction of completing those projects.

3. Sew Mindfully: Sewing is not just about the end product, it’s also about the process. Practice mindfulness while sewing, and savour each stitch. Take the time to appreciate the textures, colours, and the joy of creating something with your own hands.

4. Give Back Through Sewing: Consider using your sewing skills to give back to the community. Whether it’s sewing for charity, teaching others to sew, or creating handmade gifts for loved ones, spread the joy of sewing to those around you.

5. Organise Your Sewing Space: An organised sewing space can work

wonders for your creativity and productivity. Dedicate some time to

decluttering and organising your sewing area to create a serene and inspiring environment for your projects.

6. Embrace Creativity: Lastly, make a resolution to embrace creativity in all its forms. Step out of your comfort zone, experiment with different fabrics, patterns, and designs, and let your imagination run wild. Let your sewing projects be a reflection of your unique creative spirit.
