Welcome to March, friends!

We hope you’re waking up to that fresh, springy buzz in the air. The days are getting longer, the air is warmer, and that familiar buzz of activity returns to our Sewing School around Springtime! What spring means for us: More daylight so longer sewing days and more creative time in the studio. A renewed sense of wonder as wildlife and flowers start to peek through after a wet winter. A chance to refresh, rebuild, and finish projects.

Open Studios:

Saturday 7 March, 10am -4pm – Lewisham Local Fair for Repair week

Bank Holiday Monday 6th April – So Last Century Fair

Informal, friendly drop-in sessions where you can ask questions, get sewing tips, or get support advice on your current project with support from our team. It’s a great way to connect with fellow sewers, and gain practical advice for your upcoming spring projects and of course the So Last Vintage fair is on to tempt you.

Lewisham Maker’s Fair

As part of Repair Week we will be holding an Open Studio

Saturday 7th March, 10 – 3pm come ask us for repair advice and quick hand sewing fixes plus you can pop along to the Lewisham Maker’s Fair.

Beginners Sewing

Sewing Machine Taster

Sunday 8 March, 10am-1pm, £55

Get into sewing with our EXPRESS taster session learn how to use a sewing machine. It does not matter if you do not have a machine (Yet!) this is aimed to get you right on track and you will leave wanting to sew SEW much.

Next Steps Classes

Sew your first pyjama or lounge pants

Sunday 22 March 10am-5pm, £100

Lounge in style in your me-made pyjama bottoms or shorts. This dressmaking class is an ideal first sewing project for newbies, or a quick and satisfying make for existing stitch addicts.

Cushions Masterclass

Sunday 29 March 10am-4pm, £100

Design and Sew your own cushions workshop to learn how to make professional looking cushions from our team of experts.

Everybody loves cushions, but often not the prices of them.

Here is your chance to learn everything you need to know to make them affordable and exactly to your design. You will be learning about Zips/buttonholes and making your own patterns and inserting trimmings.
